Built for grey skies, sideways rain and the odd pigeon- Isn't the UK too wet and dark for solar?
- Fair question. Tom specced the panel for British roofs and weather. Bifacial dual glass collects light from the back too. It's tested for salt mist, sand and 25mm hail, with a 4540 Pa front load rating for heavy snow. And in winter, the battery and the cheap overnight rate do the heavy lifting.
- Do I really need a battery?
- Panels make power in the day. Most homes use the most in the evening. A battery keeps what the panels make and runs the house later, then tops up overnight at the cheap rate. In EV and heat pump homes, panels alone cover roughly a third of use. The battery and the tariff plan do the rest.
- What if one panel is shaded or stops working?
- Every SunwurX panel has module-level optimisation built in. One panel down doesn't mean they all go down, so there's no Christmas-tree effect where one weak panel drags the whole string.
- How do I know the savings figure is real?
- Your figure is independently validated under the Energy Performance Validation Scheme (EPVS). It's a number you can check, not a sales promise, and it's worked out for your home. Your specialist shows it to you at your design appointment.
- How much does it cost?
- It depends on your roof, your home and how you use energy, which is why we do a Proper Quote rather than a price off a list. Finance options available, subject to status.
- We work from home. Does that change anything?
